The Underneath


Imagine a spooky swamp in bayou country. Picture a falling down house with a nasty old man living there. Visualize an abandoned cat, soon to have kittens, and an abused dog with an old bullet wound in his leg. Now envision a 100-foot long alligator, quicksand, and a 1000-year-old water moccasin. Put them all together, along with an old tree and a hummingbird, and you've got the recipe for this intriguing tale that won the 2009 Newbery Honor award, by Kathi Appelt. This is an amazing animal story about cruelty and love.

    I like the tale of deperaux. IT is a very good book. I like how it is a mouse that saves the princess.

    I love the book "Marley and Me". I read the book and watched the movie. i like the book better because there's more interesting details.
